TEA - Dandelion

Dandelion tea is easy to find and make. It is important to choose plants that have not been treated with any chemicals before harvesting them.  Alternatively, you can purchase dried dandelion tea. 

 

What’s so good about dandelion tea?

  • Reduces water retention

  • Used a liver tonic in folk medicine

  • Could help with losing weight

  • Has a positive effect on your digestion system

  • Has cancer fighting potential


If you are taking any prescription medications,

consult your doctor before drinking dandelion tea.


How to brew dandelion tea:

  • If you have access to fresh dandelions, make sure they have not been treated with chemicals.

  • Wash the flowers and leaves, then steep in hot water for 15 – 20 minutes

  • Wash the roots thoroughly, chop into find pieces and back in oven for approximately 2 hours

  • Steep 1 – 2 TSP of roots in hot water for approximately 10 minutes

  • Flowers and Leaves: Wash, then let steep in hot water for 15-20 minutes
