SPIRIT CALLING

Updated: Jan 12, 2024

In my younger years, perhaps like many people, I blindly walked through my life. As a child, I worked hard at school to get good grades. As a teenager graduating high school moved away from home for a college education. As a college graduate, I began to seek employment to begin my business career. As my full-time career flourished (in the big city of Toronto, Ontario) I attended college courses at night adding more diplomas to my resume.

Approaching the age of 30 my soul yearned for children. I married and gave birth at the age of 32 to my daughter and then my son at the age of 35. From the outside looking in, my life looked like a success story. The reality was far from this illusion. My lifestyle was taking its toll on my mental and physical health. Any anxiety or sadness that tried to make itself known would be unconsciously pushed deep down into my being. This was my coping mechanism that worked for a long time until the day my beloved older brother passed away suddenly from heart failure.

After the funeral packed with sad good-byes, I attempted to return to life as usual. It was not long before I realized a person can only ignore life to a certain degree before it begins to manifest itself through health issues. Attending the office of our family physician it was suggested I had a great deal of anxiety in my life. Almost laughing at this physician, he replied saying what I was describing was anxiety attacks, therefore, I must have anxiety. Still rejecting the idea, he calmly began to list the many stressors in my life, such as, the death of my brother, 2 young children, a demanding career, and a husband working out of town on a regular basis.

It was suggested a psychiatrist could help with all my life stressors, so I reluctantly agreed. This also led me into group therapy for the next 2 years. In addition, I began to attend a multitude of energy healing modalities which proved instrumental in my healing.

During hard times of life, despair can actually urge us to rise to the challenge. The unfortunate death of my brother proved to be the catalyst that eventually brought much healing and urged me to seek out the true meaning of life.

Why are we here?

What is our purpose?

It is just to be born, work and die? That did not make sense.

Anguish from unexpected life circumstances can create a spiritual awakening which begins a quest to research and understand the benefits of such. To me, the benefits proved to bring peace and harmony on all levels.

Stayed tuned for more posts regarding spiritual awakening and how it served to feed my soul.

Wishing you the life of your dreams!
