RTF WEEK #12 - YOUR CHOICE, YOUR WAY

If you have been working on your personal growth, most likely you have met with friction from some family and friends.  Comments like, “You have become selfish” is a very common reaction.  It's not that you have become selfish but rather you are beginning to set some boundaries with the realization you are worthy.  It can be very confusing because you are working hard at changing for the better leading you to possibly losing your support system.

 

For the most part, people in your life resist because they do not like change.  Your time has come to change if you want to become the best version of yourself.  Unfortunately, while you are busy working on yourself (via personal growth) it will force you to take inventory of your social circle.  Perhaps it will lead you in a direction to meet new friends where you will find positive support and like-minded people.  Some of your current social circle will drop out of your life naturally, while others could somehow be forced out. 

 

You do not have to suddenly slam the door on all your family and friends.  As the old saying goes, “People are in your life for a reason, others are there for a season and it’s important to realize when those seasons are over”. Some people will be with you a lifetime and that’s a guarantee!

 

Try your very best to not stress about the changes in your life.  You now have the tools needed to deal with stress and anxiety.  Your new life requires you to let go and let live.  Viewing life on a positive level will allow you to attract more positive into your life.  It can  become a positive vivacious circle, wonderful experience!

 

I believe living “your life, your way” is all about choices.  You get to choose the way you live your life - today and in the future.  You can choose to remain in your box, in your comfort zone or you can choose to create a new you leading you into a new life. 

 

Living in your personal power allows you to live your life YOUR way.  Just like Elvis Presley in his song, “I did it my way”.  Do you now feel secure enough to venture out on your own with no need to follow the crowd.  To reach this point in your life gives you the strength to face your fears, the courage to test new ground and allows you an open heart to be the best you can be!

 

I truly believe whatever goals you have set for yourself must be extended to others around you.  For instance, if you desire freedom of choice – you must allow everyone around you the same freedom of choice.  You want respect, you must first give respect.  You want love, you must first give love.  What ever it is that you want, you must first give it to others.  It is a Universal Law.

 

To stand in personal power is to regulate yourself by focusing on the ability of cooperating with others.  You can lead by example, you can be inspiring, and you can influence others by fostering a positive attitude.  You can be assertive but respectful, successful but humble and driven but stable.  It is not about controlling others or being controlled.  It is standing strong in who you have become with grace and power.

 

Your personal power can be achieved through…

 

Choice – choose to live your life your way


Excitement – use fear as a motivator, turn it into positive adrenaline


Action – set goals and work towards achieving those goals

 

Personal power is not about controlling others but rather it is learning to love yourself, wholly and completely, one step at a time.  You can have the strength to stand strong with the courage of a lion and the gentleness of a kitten.  You alone hold the power to create your own joy.  You can take action in the face of fear. You can eventually love unconditionally with no strings attached. You can finally live in peace, love, and joy.  There truly is no better place to be!

 

One of the most powerful exercises I have ever used to increase my personal power was suggested by Iyanla Vanzant the author of the book “Tapping the Power Within”.  It is as follows:

  • dedicate a workbook to this exercise

  • for a full 30 days write “I am” statements in this book once a day

    • try to make it at a time you will not be disturbed

    • using nouns, begin with whatever comes into your head

    • write it down, let it flow out of your head

  • the more you write these “I am” statements the more you will be able to create

  • it is very empowering

  • a feel good exercise

  • Examples

    • I am loving

    • I am power

    • I am freedom

    • I am strength

    • I am energy

    • I am courage

    • I am confidence

    • I am beauty

    • I am compassion

 

One final tool I want to leave you with is the power of visualization and it can be used as a partner to your Dream Life Story. Visualizing above and beyond your affirmations holds a great deal of power. It is one of the claims of the book/movie, “The Secret”. Athletes often use the power of visualization to reach their potential because it helps program your subconscious mind. Simply set the intention that what you are visualizing is real. Your subconscious mind does not know the difference between you pretending to view your surroundings and actually viewing your surroundings. When you add emotional feelings to the visualization increases its power. As you visualize feel the excitement of it already being in your life:

  • feel the happiness

  • feel the contentment

  • feel the courage against the fear

  • feel the positivity

  • visualization is a proven technique that really works


This is a case where you must believe to achieve. If you are having difficulty with believing please google visualization on the internet and do your own research to aid you. You can even try to visualize something small and totally achievable in a short period of time to test the process. For example:

  • lets say there is something small you really want or need in your life

    • you do not see any possible way of receiving it

    • set the intention that you expect it to fall into your life

  • visualize it as if it is already in your life

    • do not hold any expectation of how you will it

    • actually see it in your life

    • get excited about receiving

    • how you will feel when it arrives

  • do not set this visualization on a specific something that will infringe upon the free will of another person

    • you cannot control another person even in visualization

 

You can visualize using your Dream Life Story, it is all about beginning at the end.

You can use your relaxation techniques to create a silent space while alone

With your eyes closed think about what your Dream Life looks like

  • some of you may be able to visualize this in your mind

  • others will only be able to think it

  • either way, it works

  • try to visualize the details of story

  • your career of choice

  • where you are working

  • how much money you are earning

  • see yourself putting your pay cheque in the bank

  • see the total balance of your bank account

  • the home you want to live in

  • filled with the furnishings you desire

  • where is home located


However, beginning with visualizing your entire dream life may be too big of a chore. How about trying mini-sessions for only one of your topics in the your dream life story, for example:

  • a mini session for your career of choice

  • a separate session for your dream home

  • etc.


While visualizing take your time in seeing/thinking of the details:

  • make it as real as possible

  • make a point of feeling any and all positive feelings you would feel if it was a reality today

    • are you excited

    • are you happy

    • are you feeling safe

    • are you feeling secure

  • the more you can feel it being real, the greater the results

    • visualizing without feeling will not create the results you want

 

When you get your subconscious mind to believe your visualization is a reality it has no alternative but to make it a reality. Be aware this is not an overnight success thing. As you continue with the tools in this program you will see the realization of your goals one step at a time. Remain open to intuitive ideas, and take action on those ideas - it is important not to dismiss them. The important step to visualizing is making sure you really see it in your minds eye (or think it very clearly) and feel great about it.

 

Through this RTF personal growth program you have been given all the tools you need to move forward into a new life.  I hope you have been inspired with new hope and faith in yourself knowing you can handle anything life throws at you.  This is not a magical fairy tale ending, it really is all up to you.  You get to write the story and create your reality.  There will be times you experience frustration during this process and that is just called life. 


You might experience anger, but you can effectively deal with it. 


You might experience pain, but you are strong enough to endure it. 


You might experience disappointment, but you can carry yourself forward with faith of something better to surface.

 

Just know in your heart of hearts, you can create and experience all life has to offer. It really is all about how you react to life, it’s all about your world view.  Keep on the positive track and you won’t go wrong with your choice, your way!  You are free to choose and make changes every step of the way.  If your choice takes down a path you dislike, you are always free to choose again.  It’s called wisdom.
