INTRODUCTION
The “Roadmap to Freedom” personal growth program can be instrumental in helping you create a whole new life.
Would you like to create a life you have always wanted?
What are your desires?
Are you happy with your life the way it is now?
The fact is, we all need emotional healing from life experiences. Life has a way of knocking us down. People hurt us. Life changes against our will. Whether you realize it or not, these emotions remain in our subconscious.
Do you feel worthy of your desires?
What is the life of your dreams?
Have you ever thought about this?
In the late 1990’s I was married with two children. Over the course of 20+ years my now ex-husband managed to destroy all the love I once felt for him. He was manipulative, mean and destructive. My coping strategies were to bury the pain and trauma deep within my being, basically hiding it from myself and everyone else. One can only do this for so long before it begins to manifest in your body as illness.
When my doctor told me the symptoms I was experiencing was due to anxiety I actually told him there was no stress in my life. He calmly began to list a few of my stressors:
You are working full-time at a demanding career while raising two children
Your husbands employment takes him out of town for long periods of time
You just experienced a significant death in your family, your brother
Needless to say, I then began my healing journey through group therapy and new age energy healing which led to the family breaking up. Looking back, when I began my journey to freedom, I had but one dream, “To live a life full of love, harmony and joy.” It is important to take the 1st step into your journey by daring to dream a new life; use your imagination!
Everything in life begins with an idea. First, you have the idea, then you begin to think about it. What you think about, you bring about. Unfortunately, this can either work in your favour, or aid in your destructive behaviours. You need not believe that you manifest everything in your life for it to be true. It just is. All your thoughts, positive or negative, are energetically attracted to you. It is important to find a way to focus on the positive and stop the negative thoughts. I call this your chatterbox which will be discussed thoroughly in the Roadmap to Freedom, Level 2 – Thoughts and Beliefs. We have a great deal of work to get through until reaching that session.
The first step here is to dream your life so you can work on creating what you want. You can use your childhood imagination to begin creating the life you so desire:
What kind of life do you want?
What are details of that life?
Are you seeking happiness?
Are you wishing for romantic love?
Do you yearn to feel content?
Can you currently stand in your personal power?
Are you seeking confidence?
Is freedom important to you?
All you have to do to begin is decide what you really want your life to look like. Let go of any judgements. Do NOT worry about how you will get there. Don’t let your insecurities interfere with this process.
Regardless if you are feeling worthy, or not, just dream it!
Regardless of your negative chatter, just dream it!
Regardless of your emotional state, just dream it!
Imagine someone has handed you a magic Genie bottle – one wish for your dream life – go for it! You are deserving of your hearts’ desires. It is likely well intended people have knocked you down in your life, it’s time to pick yourself up. This dream life starts with you writing your dream story. Just pretend. Use your imagination. Do not judge, just do it!
Are you willing to take that first step? Baby steps lead to steps, steps lead to strides and strides lead you to your goals. You can do this in private, or announce it to the world, it’s all about what you want!
Sometimes it is difficult to begin dreaming, perhaps your imagination is blocked. If so, look to the people the envy – obviously they have something you desire. What do they have you want? This is a clue to your desires. Think of it this way, if money and circumstances were NOT an issue, what would your life look like?
If this process is still difficult, think about what you don’t like…then think of what is opposite of that. For instance:
Financial difficulties – dream abundance
Feeling lonely – dream loving family and fun friends
Struggling with illness – dream optimum health
Feeling sad – dream happiness
It is suggested that you concentrate on the following 6 segments when creating/documenting your dream life:
Relationships
Finances & money
Career & work
Leisure
Environment
Healthy & self care
It’s time to write your dream life story by concentrating on one segment at a time (as listed above). It is important to write your dream life in present tense, as if you are currently living it right now!
Although this exercise is time consuming, it is well worth the effort! This step will be referred to as you progress along in the Roadmap to Freedom weekly sessions. Stay with this, take your time and make it a feel-good project. Your emotions are important during the process of writing your story. Stay happy. Stay positive. Imagine you living your dream life and all the great emotions that go along with that! Have fun with dreaming, imagine it real in the now. Enjoy!
Write or type your first draft. It might be easier to write the story in short form permitting all the ideas to flow easier. You can use the short form details to write the longer version of your dream life story. In the beginning do not worry about spelling errors or how messy it might become – this is for your eyes only!
Here are some ideas about what you might like to include in your dream life story:
RELATIONSHIPS
What type of relationship do you want with yourself?
How do you feel about yourself?
How do you want to feel about yourself in the future?
Would you like to be more sociable?

This is your first step to creating a new life, a new you! Spend time thinking about your future dream life. It is really important to write your dream life story in present tense, as if you are already living that life.
Once you have completed your rough draft, take the time to turn it into a story about your dream life, as if you are already living that lifestyle.
Don’t forget to feel the emotions while creating your story, for example:
Gratitude
Happy and Joyful
Loving Life
Etc.
Create your dream life story with detail, be specific when you can. You do not have to believe you will reach your dream life because you might be skeptical. The fact is, you are creating a roadmap to your new life. This is the beginning of that. This is week #01 of the Roadmap to Freedom personal growth program.
Concentrating and working on the dream life story is a positive step to a new you! It has the potential to life your spirits, all you have to do is allow yourself to dream. Think back to being a child and how you would daydream. Allow the child in you to dream again, awaken your inner child to dream a new life. What do you have to lose? You have way more to gain!
Take the next week to complete this first step in the Roadmap to Freedom journey. Please do not underestimate it’s worth in your life. This is a very important step to move forward. If you dedicate yourself to this program it will pay off in the future.
Here are some points to ponder:
What if, it makes you feel good?
What if, it gives you hope for your future?
What if, it sparks a motivation within you to create a new life?
What if, this is all you have now in the moment?
It is better than staying stuck?
Your dream will not happen overnight, but it will not happen at all if you do not do the work
