#16 ROADMAP TO HEALTH - Goat Milk Baby Formula

Going back many years, both my babies did not agree with breast feeding and switching to store bought formula did not help the issue. Eventually a nurse in our traditional health care system suggested trying soy based formula in case the problem was lactose intolerance. It solved the problem!

Fast forward 20 years and my first grandchild was showing the same symptoms of lactose intolerance. My daughter immediately changed to soy based formula only to discover the ingredients of the store bought baby formula. She launched into her own research and discovered a homemade, natural recipe for baby formula.

This formula proved to be cost efficient (compared to store bought in a can) but of course, at first, it appeared to be time consuming. After making a few batches of this homemade formula, and realizing the health benefit to her baby, it fed the next 3 babies arriving in her life. The babies seem to thrive on this formula!

The following is a goat milk baby formula (make 1 gallon):

  • 3 cups of goat milk

  • 1/3 cup organic virgin coconut oil

  • 1/3 cup organic olive oil

  • 1 cup organic brown rice syrup

  • 2 TSP unsulfured molasses

  • 7 1/2 cups hot water (120 degrees, very hot)

  • 1 1/2 cups

Heat the water to 120 degrees

Add all the ingredients listed above and mix well

Let cool and pour into clean/sterilized baby bottles

Store in frig and warm up before feeding (as you would any other formula)

It is important to supplement the baby as follows:

1/8 TSP daily of Infant Strain Probiotics

Baby Multi Vitamin Drops (use as directed on the bottle)

Typically this formula is fed to the baby up to 10 months of age; use your own discretion!
