Did you know deodorant purchased in the store contains toxins? Just one of those toxins is aluminum, and it is detrimental to our health. Aluminum is a major health issue to our physical bodies. To name just one, aluminum is found in the brains of dementia victims.
When I first discovered how our body care products were poisoning us (with more than just aluminum) it was decided to research healthier versions which led to homemade versions. This option of making your own deodorant, has the added bonus of being cost efficient!
It is worth noting that store bought deodorant blocks the sweat under your arms. This may, or may not, lead to itchy armpits. This symptom is what actually caused me to research and try natural alternative products.
When one is moving from store bought deodorant, to natural homemade deodorant, your body begins to release the buildup of toxins previously blocked by the store bought deodorant. This leads many people to believe the natural product does not work. It does, but it takes time to rid your body of all that buildup. If you are serious about helping your body heal, do the best you can to make it through the detox of your armpits which could take up to a month or longer.
The following is a deodorant recipe:
2 1/2 TBSP unrefined coconut oil
2 1/2 TBSP unrefined shea butter
1/4 cup arrowroot starch/flour
1 1/2 TBSP baking soda (aluminum free)
6 drops lavender essential oil
6 drops grapefruit essential oil
1 drop tea tree essential oil
Mix the dry ingredients together
Melt the coconut oil and shea butter
Mix the oil/butter with the dry ingredients
Add the essential oil and mix well
Pour into glass containers, can be stored in the freezer
Directions for Use:
After showering/bathing spray your armpits with Colloidal Silver (optional)
Add a small amount of homemade deodorant and rub over armpit (approximately a pea size or less)
