Life Skills for Children

Affirmations can help shift an unwanted mindset into more positive thinking. It is a way to reprogram your subconscious mind when a child is feeling knocked down causing low self esteem, anxiety and even depression.

Affirmations are best used multiple times a day beginning in the morning as a good start to the day, throughout the day when possible and again definitely at bedtime. It's a good practice to involve your child in writing the affirmation in relation to what they are currently needing some help with.

Depending on the situation at hand the affirmation can be repeated throughout one day, multiple days or a week at a time. The longer the child uses the affirmation the greater the effect into the subconscious mind.

The affirmations are not necessary just used in times of despair. This is a wonderful life skill that can be taught throughout childhood and carried into adulthood as a powerful tool in creating the life you want.

The affirmation can be written on a piece of paper, on a card, and with a picture (or not). With children it is important to keep the affirmation short and bold.
